When a member of the Roe Environmental Ltd team visits your property they will have a lorry with a pressure jetting system to clear any blocked drain. The process involves pumping water along a flexible hose – the pressure of the water jets will clear any debris, tree roots and encrustations.
The biggest cause of drainage problems link to excessive grease and silt in pipes and tree root damage. Using high pressure water jetting systems Roe Environmental can clear all blockages.
Many smaller companies engage Roe Environmental to handle jobs that their equipment cannot cope with.
An environmental clean-up service can be provided when any form of liquid waste spillage has occurred (with the exception of fuel). Liquid waste, sewage, grease and oil can all be extracted and disposed of with remaining debris cleared into skips.

Septic tank, cess pool & package treatment plant emptying, servicing & installation
Septic tanks, cess pools, and package treatment plants can all be used to dispose of sewage & waste water. To ensure that any system is working efficiently they must be emptied on a regular basis and most customers do this every 6 months – this varies in relation to the size of the tank and how many people are living at the property.
A system should last for many years but there are some things to be aware of which could reduce the lifespan of any system:
- Too much oil & fat can cause blockages as they don’t easily decompose
- Disposal of food items can overload the system and even cause failure
- Chemicals such as bleach and pesticides can damage the natural balance of the system
- Flushing waste that doesn’t decompose – cotton buds, cigarettes, tampons
As part of the service your tank will be emptied, any sludge and silt removed and transferred to a licenced treatment facility for disposal.
If you are concerned about a blockage in your pipework we can use high pressure water jetting to ensure drain pipes are clean and in excellent condition.
Septic tanks take the form of a two or three chamber tank. Older tanks are usually brick or concrete, newer ones are more likely to be fibre glass or reinforced plastic. When working correctly a tank will collect the waste water, separate out the solids and discharge the effluent into the soak away. If there is a build-up of solids the outlet to the drain may become blocked. We recommend a regular service to avoid this happening. A regular service visit would include the tank being emptied, sludge and silt removed & transferred to a licenced treatment facility for disposal.

When access to mains drainage is not possible and a septic tank is not large enough a package treatment plant, which can be connected to more than one property, may be the answer. The size of plant depends on the amount to be processed which in turn dictates how often it should be emptied. It is designed to treat raw effluent to a better and less polluting quality than a septic tank.
Using high pressure jetting the walls of the chamber can be cleaned of textiles of any description.
